Search engine placement is really like playing a game with competition occurring between SEOs around the world. Those who win will be compensated for their efforts.

Because search engines do not publish their ranking algos, the search engine can be looked at as a big black mysterious box, and the game of search engine placement is to figure out through all possible means how the inner parts of that big black box work.

Although one who practices the art and science of search engine placement may never completely understand the workings of the search engine, the search engine optimizer can understand it enough so that a first page ranking can be provided to the client.

In light of this perspective, knowing about any change in the ranking algo is critical for the continual fine tuning of the search engine placement knowledge base. Hence the need for this search engine placement news journal.

The professional search engine optimizer should not have to resort to black hat search engine placement techniques. The truly professional search engine optimizer should use a tool box consisting of white hat techniques only. As in any endeavor, there is no short cuts to success, and search engine placement is no exception to this rule. Optimal search engine placement is simply hard work.

Search engines will gladly reward hard working white hat search engine optimizers because in the end, this results in a higher quality and most relevant web site for the web site visitor. After all, is not quality and relevancy the holy grail for the search engines?

Black hat search engine optimizers are considered bad apples within the profession. I believe those that practice black hat search engine placement will eventually be filtered out of the profession, and believe me, the search engines are doing their part daily in contributing to this filtration.

It is very important that the client has a clear understanding of the search engine placement techniques which will be used by the optimizer. Most clients prefer to use a search engine optimizer who works hard at producing long term high rankings, and thus one who uses white hat techniques.

The client must have a clear understanding that long term high rankings simply do not occur over night and that one who practices search engine placement has no control over any time delay the search engine may incorporate into their ranking algo i.e. Google. Patients is a virtue, especially in the world of search engine placement.

Part of any search engine optimizer’s daily routine consists of a check on the current SEO news. Daily enlightenment is critical when maintaining or building a first page ranking. Hopefully this journal provides for this enlightenment.

Search engine placement and optimization news items will be posted daily, seven days a week, from a diverse assortment of RSS feeds. The search engine placement and optimization news feeds come from highly respected sources within the industry. The most relevant news will be posted. Comments are encouraged.
